It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of long-time member Preston Pratley.

After serving in the Navy, Pres joined the fire company in 1971. He was an active firefighter with us for many years and served several years as a lieutenant. With his home being just down the road, he was often one of the first members at the firehouse when the horn blew for a call. Pres could always be counted on to help at special events; setting-up, cooking, cleaning-up, and even playing the role of Santa for many children’s holiday parties.

Pres also volunteered for many years at the Banksville Community House. He spent countless hours coaching youth baseball, and leading youth events including teen nights, bowling trips, street hockey and basketball games. For many of us, he will be remembered as the best baseball coach we ever had.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Pratley family during this difficult time.

Visitation is at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich, CT on Thursday May 30 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday, May 31 at 12 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Greenwich , followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich.
