A chimney fire with extension into the attic and roof brought multiple fire companies from Greenwich, along with Banksville Tankers 7 and 17, to a home on Riversville Road yesterday. Greenwich firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. Tanker 7 provided water via a nurse operation.
While Tanker 7 remained operating at the Riversville Road fire, Engine 158 and Rescue 7 responded to an oil burner malfunction on Middle Patent Road. They discovered high carbon monoxide levels in the residence, and remained on scene ventilating the structure for nearly an hour.
