Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By BIFD Staff
August 30, 2014

Earlier this week, BIFD conducted a pump operations drill at the old gas station across the street from fire house. Engine 157 drafted from the pond utilizing 80 feet of hard suction (all 55 feet carried on Engine 157 and an additional 25 feet from Engine 159). Engine 157 provided water to Engine 159 through 200 feet of 5-inch hose, and Engine 159 practiced supplying the deck gun and handlines.

Engine 157 is a 1500 gpm pumper and is the designated water supply engine. In addition to carrying 55 feet of hard suction, the unit is equipped with 4,500 feet of 5-inch hose, a portable fire pump, and various water supply appliances including a relay valve and Turbo Draft unit.
