Sunday, November 24th was a busy day for the Banksville Fire Department, with the Department hosting its annual Turkey Jamboree, and responding to 7 calls including 2 structure fires and a brush fire.

The first call came in just before 7am, with Banksville units being dispatched to Cedar Hill Rd for a report of an attached garage filling with smoke. Upon 2581's (Chief Farquhar) arrival, there was smoke showing from the front of the building and the Homeowner advised him that there was an active fire in the garage. The 10-75 assignment was transmitted bringing Armonk Tanker 9 and 51-B2, Pound Ridge Tanker 3, Bedford Village Engine 108 and Utility 140, Mt. Kisco Engine 106 and Utility 13 (FAS Team) in to the scene. The Crew of Engine 158 stretched two 1-3/4 lines, made an aggressive interior attack and were able to keep the fire contained to the Garage and its contents. The fire was declared under control with in a half hour using only tank water from Engine 158. Greenwich Engine 8 relocated to Banksville to cover our district while we where operating.

In the afternoon, while the Turkey Jamboree was in full swing, Car 2581, Tanker 7 and Mini-Attack 11 responded to a mutual aid request from Armonk for a brush fire on High Street. Tanker 7 provided water while the Mini-Attack crew assisted the Armonk crews extinguishing the fire.

Shortly after returning from the brush fire, BIFD was dispatched to an automatic alarm, and while enroute to that call was dispatched for a reported structure fire at the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich. Tanker 7, Engine 157 and Tanker 17 responded to the Greenwich call. Greenwich units made a quick knockdown. See News 12 link below.

During these alarms, other BIFD members along with members of the Banksville Community House, hosted the Turkey Jamboree. The event continued without a hitch and was a fun and successful event.
